Craniosacral Therapy (CST) at Chrysalis Cove

Mission

Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is a therapeutic gentle touch massage that works subtly but can deliver dramatic results.

Cranio + Sacral

cranium: the head as it sits atop the spine.

sacrum: a triangle shaped bone at the base of the spine

Your spine is an incredible work of art and engineering – the spinal cord attaches to your head with a series of membranes, muscles and connective tissue. Cerebrospinal fluid flows throughout your spine, creating its own pulse much like your heartbeat. When blockages occur, stiffness and soreness can result; these blockages could be the result of many causes including physical injury, surgery, physical stress, repetitive stress injury, psychological stress, or retained emotional trauma.

CST utilizes gentle touch to coax the muscles back into alignment and open up surrounding tissues to allow a better flow of healing energy; this stimulates the body’s natural ability to self heal. CST bodywork uses subtle bone movement to identify and release restrictions in body tissues. During your session, your massage therapist will track how your bones and tissues are moving in response to the cranial rhythm and gently treat any restrictions with light pressure. Your responses, spoken and unspoken, voluntary and involuntary movement, will help your therapist guide and modify your treatment as you go.  Sessions typically last 60 minutes. Some clients only need individual sessions; others schedule them weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly. Call today to schedule your first session.
